AMC Networks has officially launched Lestat de Lioncourt’s very first rock single, “Long Face,” from the upcoming season of The Vampire Lestat.
The song is performed in-character by Sam Reid, who portrays the titular musician. The new Vampire Lestat track debuted on February 13, 2026, on major music streaming platforms, adding a brand-new element to Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe. Released in partnership with Lakeshore Records, the song is now available on the newly created Vampire Lestat artist pages on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more. Additional songs for the AMC series are expected to be released in the coming months. Check out all the platforms for “Long Face” here.
The Vampire Lestat is based on Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles. It follows the story of the immortal musician as he embraces fame in the “modern age”. In the upcoming season, Lestat and his band hit the road as they go on a multi-city tour. However, as his fame grows, the dangers surrounding him do, too. Haunted by figures from his past, Lestat must weigh the pros and cons of his rising influence.
Initially meant to be Interview with the Vampire season 3, AMC retitled the new chapter. The network changed the name because it wanted to shift the show’s focus to the titular character. The third installment will be an adaptation of the second book of The Vampire Chronicles (The Vampire Lestat). The new season also sees the rise of the “Great Conversion,” where the number of vampires in the world rapidly escalates.
The Vampire Lestat features a large ensemble cast. It stars Jacob Anderson (Louis de Pointe du Lac), Assad Zaman (Armand), Eric Bogosian (Daniel Molloy), Jennifer Ehle (Gabriella de Lioncourt), Delainey Hayles (Claudia), Bally Gill (Rashid), Ben Daniels (Santiago), Suzanne Andrade (Celeste), Christopher Heyerdahl (Marius), Damien Atkins (Magnus), and Sheila Atim (Akasha), alongside Reid.
The press release that came with the reveal of the song also included a mock interview where the song’s creator, Daniel Hart, and Lestat himself spoke about the song. Hart explained that David Bowie was a major inspiration behind the new rock single. The ever-grateful vampire, on the other hand, slammed the songwriter and composer for stealing from Bowie because he doesn’t have a single original thought in his head.
Hart: Long Face is the first song I wrote for The Vampire Lestat. We decided early on to make David Bowie a big influence for Lestat’s musical style and persona, and there’s certainly some Ziggy Stardust in this song. But we chose Bowie not only for his glam era, but because he was a chameleon. Expect Lestat to change his musical colors throughout the season as well, as he discovers how to remain true to himself, and how to express that truth on stage every night.
The Vampire Lestat: Long Face is the first song Daniel Hart ‘produced’ for my album. He decided early on to steal where he could from Bowie because he hasn’t had an original idea for five years now (is that his Green Knight score fading in the rear view?) As for Long Face, the bass should have walked down with the guitar at the end instead of pedaling on E. Predictable. Like everything Daniel Hart touches.
