A former American Idol contestant has been arrested for a laundry list of sexual crimes against a minor.

You may remember eccentric Randy Madden from season 8 of the reality singing competition in 2009… He sang Livin’ on a Prayer, but was sent packing after all four judges reacted to his performance with a resounding “NO.”
Fast forward to 2025, the wannabe rocker has been arrested and charged with SIX felonies after allegedly having sex with a minor. According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Office records, the now-45-year-old was booked on October 30. TMZ reported he was charged with unlawful sexual intercourse, oral copulation of a person under 18,sending harmful matter, and luring and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.
WTF.
Court docs obtained by the outlet reveal the charges are the result of at least one encounter that occurred sometime between July and September of this year… though the victim’s age is not known at this time.
Randy reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charges, and was released on a $100,000 bond on Tuesday morning.
