Every Japanese knows Oshin. It was a very famous novel and later broadcasted on TV in the 80s. The novel was based on the true story of the Supermarket owner of Yaohan. Now its made into a movie. Its a story of a girl who was contracted to work at a rich man's house when she was only 7. (year 1907) She grew up in the rich man's house and learned how to do business.
