OK, this is the factor: the 1994 remake is not a dangerous film, it is only a fully pointless one. Starring Richard Attenborough, Dylan McDermott, Elizabeth Perkins and Mara Wilson, it would not actually add something new or particular, which is clear as the unique 1947 nonetheless tends to get extra airplay all these years later.
