Good-Feel and Spike Chunsoft are bringing Bakeru, stylized as BAKERU, westwards on September 3rd. Released in Japan last November under the name Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan!!, Bakeru is an action game that has been likened to Konami’s Goemon (also known as Mystical Ninja) series of games and that has Etsunobu Ebisu, both the founder of Good-Feel and a key producer of Goemon, on board with the project.
Good-Feel is well known for its work on Wario Land: The Shake Dimension and Kirby’s Epic Yarn on the Nintendo WII, as well as its most recent game for the Nintendo Switch- Princess Peach: Showtime. While Good-Feel developed and published Bakeru by themselves in Japan, Spike Chunsoft will be the publisher for it in the West.
Nintendo confirmed the news through an announcement trailer that can be seen below.
The eShop page for the Western release is also now up and running, with pre-orders open and a demo available to download. Notably, this Western version will include two new attacks and an enemy that aren’t present in the Japanese release.
Bakeru comes in at 3.1 GB, and has a MSRP of $39.99 / £34.99, with a 10% pre-order sale ($35.99 / £31.49) running from now until September 3rd.
