One of the most infamous moments in Batman and Catwoman history occurred in 2018, when the two were set to officially tie the knot, only for Selina to leave Bruce at the altar. This outcome was extremely controversial and sparked outrage among fans. However, it now seems that DC is finally getting a chance to right this wrong.
The failed BatCat wedding in Batman #50 sparked outrage and backlash, with Tom King even receiving death threats…
Seven years ago, DC got fans’ hopes up by announcing that Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne would officially be saying “I do” and getting married. However, those hopes were crushed in Tom King’s Batman #50 (2018), where Catwoman and Batman’s long-awaited next step fell apart.
Now, DC has confirmed that another BatCat wedding is on the horizon, offering Batman a second chance at love with Catwoman. This second chance is teased to take place in Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #4, by Tom King and Belén Ortega.
DC Teases a Second BatCat Wedding, But Will It Finally Happen This Time?
Tom King’s Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #4 Promises a Do-Over for Batman & Catwoman’s Big Day
Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #4 isn’t set to release until September 10, 2025, but its main cover and official synopsis have already caught fans’ attention by promising a BatCat wedding redo. The synopsis reads, “You are cordially invited to the wedding of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, again?! It’s the big day for our lovebirds, but what’s a DC wedding without a little crisis?”
In addition to this clear confirmation that a wedding between Bruce and Selina is taking place, the main cover by Belén Ortega features a young Lizzie in her Robin costume and cat ear headband. She’s shown playfully making the wedding cake toppers of Bruce and Selina kiss, as if they were her personal dolls.
However, both the synopsis and the cover suggest that this won’t be a picture-perfect ceremony. The synopsis hints at an impending crisis, while the cover shows the wedding cake partially destroyed. Still, that doesn’t mean the event will fall apart completely, and fans have reason to stay hopeful that this time, the vows might actually be exchanged.

Tom King Has the Chance to Right His Biggest BatCat Mistake
2018’s Failed Wedding Resulted in Death Threats (Seriously)
For those unfamiliar with the ongoing Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman series, it stars Lizzie, the daughter of Diana Prince and Steve Trevor, and takes place about seven years in the future from current mainstream continuity. As a result, the series is technically canon, although it is set in the future.
Because of this, fans may be getting a glimpse into what lies ahead for Catwoman and Batman. While some may remain skeptical that the wedding will actually happen, it seems highly likely that Tom King will follow through on what’s being promised. It is doubtful he would repeat past missteps that resulted in such immense controversy.

This time, it feels like King is trying to correct that mistake by finally delivering the long-awaited Batman and Catwoman wedding in Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman.
A Future Marriage for Batman & Catwoman Might Lock Out Other Writers
Tom King’s Future BatCat Wedding Could Reshape DC Canon in a Big Way
If King does follow through with the BatCat wedding, it will be a particularly bold move on his part as a writer, as he would be locking in a lore-changing development for Selina and Bruce that takes place seven years in the future. This would prevent other writers from exploring a marriage between Catwoman and Batman in the present, which some fans may find problematic.
