beabadoobee‘s third album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, arrives later this summer, out Aug. 16 via Dirty Hit. It was produced by Rick Rubin, and it follows 2022’s Beatopia (one of our best albums of the year) and last year’s live album, Live in London. “I love this album,” beabadoobee says. “I feel like it’s helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I’m at. I guess it’s about becoming a woman.” She adds, “I think I’m more aware of my actions in these songs. In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction toward other people’s doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it’s accepting that there’s an inevitability of my fault in there, too. Whether it’s childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything.” See the cover art and tracklist below.
Having shared “Take A Bite,” and “Coming Home,” beabadoobee has given us another early of the album with “Ever Seen,” which she wrote while on tour with Taylor Swift. She’d originally envisioned it as a country song, and it still retains some twangy strumming amid the alt-pop sparkle. You can watch the video, shot in Japan by Jake Erland, below.
