In a sad bit of news, a fan-favorite Paramount+ TV show is ending with its second season finale next month.
What Paramount+ show is ending with Season 2?
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is ending after Season 2, according to a new report from Jeff Sneider of The InSneider. The series, which debuted in August 2024, will see its second season end debut next month. According to Sneider, Paramount originally ordered 24 additional episodes of the show, which would’ve likely been split in half as a Season 3 and Season 4.
Sneider’s report notes that Season 3 of the show was actually partially written, and two episodes had been sent to animation. However, at some point in the process, Paramount decided to no longer go forward with the show. Sneider notes that the studio behind the series will continue to look for third-party support and licensing opportunities.
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a 2D animated series that serves as a sequel to the 2023 movie. It features the return of the film’s vibrant cast, including Micah Abbey (Cousins for Life) as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. (THE CHI) as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu (The Walking Dead: World Beyond) as Leonardo, Brady Noon (Family Switch) as Raphael and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as April O’Neil. It will also include guest stars such as Pete Davidson as a mutant-loving rich kid RoRod, and Alanna Ubach (Ted) as Bishop, a brilliant inventor who believes mutants are the greatest danger to humanity.
“The series explores the adventures of everyone’s favorite pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers onto the streets of NYC. Leo, Raph, Donnie, and Mikey are faced with new threats and team up with old allies to survive both teenage life and villains lurking in the shadows of the Big Apple,” reads the logline.
