Set in the lush Scottish Highlands and full of dark faerie magic, crumbling manors and sexual tension, Savage Blooms is S.T. Gibson’s first installment in a new dark erotic trilogy.
Something is calling Adam to Scotland. For as long as he can remember, his grandfather shared stories of Craigmar, a decaying manor in the Highlands, and when his grandfather passes away, Adam decides to visit the place he spoke of so often. Nicola, his best friend and longtime crush, joins him for the adventure.
Once the two reach Craigmar, they find themselves waylaid by storms and forced to accept the hospitality of Eileen, Lord of Craigmar, and her groundskeeper, Finley. Adam and Nicola quickly become enamored with the two, who are eccentric, mysterious and utterly alluring. But nothing is quite as it seems, and the grounds of the manor hold secrets too strange to imagine. Caught in the mind games Eileen and Finley play in order to survive, all four people find themselves drawn to one another. Soon, they’ll be asked to answer for their secrets, and the lies that bind them all together could be the ones that break them in the end.
Savage Blooms is a dark, erotic, gothic romance and it delivers big on all three aspects. Gibson writes skillfully and with care in regard to dubious consent, dom/sub dynamics and primal play, and Savage Blooms does not shy away from the taboo. The relationships in this book are complicated and hot. Everyone is getting busy with everyone, and tinges of jealousy only fuel the chemistry. Eileen and Finley have big Cathy and Heathcliff energy: They were raised together and have been each other’s only companions for the better part of a decade. Adam and Nicola have also been friends for years, and the trip to Scotland—and the palpable sexual energy of the manor, its lord and its groundskeeper—forces the two to rethink their friendship. Lines are blurred deliciously as each person finds something new and inviting in the other three. Savage Blooms ends with a bonkers cliff-hanger that will have readers clamoring for the next book.
Not for the faint of heart, Savage Blooms is for readers who like their sex kinky and their relationships complicated.
