Brendan ‘Fev’ Fevola has revealed a shocking health diagnosis on air.
During today’s episode of The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick breakfast show, Fevola confessed he is recovering from a terrifying heart episode that occurred at Dandenong’s 1000 Step Walk.
The radio host shared that his heart rate sank to 63 best per minute (BMP) compared to his normal resting heart rate of 120 BPM.
Thankfully, Fevola sought medical help after realising the heart rate change and underwent several tests.

“Yesterday, I went and got a health check. I think it’s important for all people to get health checks but especially for males over 40,” he said.
“I’ll be like, ‘Oh my heart’s sore, it’ll go away’, and that’s mentally what we think because we’re stupid people.
“I did the 1000 Steps the other day and I’ve got this heart app on my phone, and I got halfway up and I couldn’t breathe.
“When I got home, I told Alex [Fevola’s wife]. She goes, ‘Well, do it now’, I was on my recliner, and I was like 120 [BPM] for two hours, just sitting there. I booked in to see the doctor yesterday and I said, ‘I want the lot, blood tests, ECG, give everything to me’.

“So, I got done yesterday, I had an ECG test, which tests for heart attacks and everything; it was normal, which was good. Got them all back straight away.
“The other test included diabetes, cholesterol, prostate test, iron, kidney, I got liver. That’s what I was worried about… my liver. Everything has come back normal.”
To the shock of his co-hosts, Fevola revealed his diagnosis: high stress, which came in contrast to his on-air persona as a laid-back, sport watching and family-centric person.

Fevola shared that he hopes his experience can encourage men over 40 to take their heart health seriously and to speak with a doctor about potential risks to their well-being.
“I thought, geez, I’ve had a couple of mates who have had heart attacks. I’ve had two mates that have died, that are my age, that out of nowhere have just dropped.”
