Bridgerton star Jessica Madsen has shared a personal update ahead of the show’s return this month.
The actress, 32, who stars as Cressida Cowper in the period drama, kicked off Pride Month celebrations by opening up about being queer.
“In Love with a woman, loud about it and proud about it! 🌈” she wrote to Instagram along with the hashtags #pride #pridemonth #loveislove #gaypride.

Madsen shared several LGBTQ+ inspired pics including a “Happy Pride Month” rainbow graphic and an old black and white photo from what appeared to be a march.
On the last slide of her post, Madsen shared a short clip of her face with colourful gems arranged in rainbow order under her eyes.
The post was quickly inundated with messages of support from fans and Madsen’s Bridgerton family.

The book series author Julia Quinn commented some rainbow heart emojis on the post.

Madsen has starred as Cressida Cowper on the wildly popular Netflix series since season one premiered in 2020.
The actress reprised her role for the first part of season three released on May 13 and will continue to star in part two which comes out June 13.
Speaking to 9honey Celebrity ahead of the season three premiere Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton opened up on how forgiveness is “almost one of the themes” this season.
The theme of forgiveness also extends beyond the leads to Madsen’s character.
“We really get to see the stories behind why they’re acting the way that they are,” Newton tells 9honey Celebrity.
“But particularly for Colin and [Penelope], I think, the reason that we have to allow them to make these mistakes is that they’re still growing up… they’re still finding themselves, they’re still becoming adults.”
