Bryan Cranston (Trumbo) and Lily Gladstone (Killers Of The Flower Moon) are set to star in a new conspiracy action-thriller Lone Wolf.
The movie will follow “a troubled vet (Gladstone) struggling with addiction who is recruited by a contractor (Cranston) for a covert government plot to assassinate a high-level politician.
“After learning she’s set to take the fall, she must utilize all of her skills to outwit the shadow agents to protect the future of her son.”
The movie will be directed by Mark Pellington (Arlington Road) from an original screenplay by Tom Chilcoat.
Yale Productions said in a statement: “We’ve been looking for the right project to bridge our expertise in exciting action-driven work for the world market, with the more festival and awards fare that Christine and Ted are known for.
“Mark Pellington has long been a favorite director of ours, both for his groundbreaking music videos and powerful features.
“His return to the paranoid thriller genre of Arlington Road and Mothman Prophecies is right for these times. We hope to be presenting this at all the top 2025 fall festivals.”
Pellington added: “We shared Lone Wolf early with Yale – before any attachments. and they got the vision to make the sort of intense character-based thriller that Tom and I want.
“They leapt in with Ted and Christine and made it happen with Lily and Bryan. You’ve got to love that attitude and ‘make-it-happen’ spirit.”
Producer Christine Vachon said: “We couldn’t ask for a better cast than Lily and Bryan. They are each so deeply committed to the roles. Each said ‘yes!’ days after we submitted.”
Producer Ted Hope added: “Thanks to Tom’s script and Mark’s vision, there was none of that ‘hurry up and wait’ that usually plagues the process.”
Gladstone is coming off the Hulu limited-series Under The Bridge, and her lead role in the Apple feature Fancy Dance. She will next be seen starring in Andrew Ahn’s remake of The Wedding Banquet.
Cranston most recently starred in Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle and lent his voice to Kung Fu Panda 4. He will next star in Everything’s Going to Be Great.
