Former American Idol contestant C.J. Harris, who made it to the competitors present’s high six singers in 2014, died on Sunday night time in Jasper, Ala. He was 31.
TMZ, which was first to report Harris’s demise, mentioned the singer suffered an obvious coronary heart assault.
The Walker County coroner later confirmed Harris’ demise to Folks journal. The outlet reported that the singer was rushed to Walker Baptist Medical Heart in Jasper, however efforts to resuscitate him have been unsuccessful.

Harris, a father of two younger kids, auditioned for American Idol judges Keith City, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. in Salt Lake Metropolis nearly 10 years in the past. He sang a rendition of Soulshine by Allman Brothers Band, accompanied by acoustic guitar.
After his audition, City advised Harris he’s the form of performer who “sings as a result of it’s a must to sing, not since you need to sing.” He mentioned Harris’s voice was “plausible and actual.”
All three judges voted for Harris to proceed the competitors in Hollywood.
He was eradicated from the thirteenth season of American Idol after making it to the highest six singers. Earlier, he was chosen by the judges as a semifinal wild card selection when he didn’t obtain sufficient votes to stay within the competitors.
After Idol, Harris carried out with Hootie & the Blowfish’s lead vocalist Darius Rucker on the Grand Ole Opry. He launched his single In Love in 2019.
On social media, Harris frequently shared video of himself performing, typically from his own residence.

Jessica Meuse, who competed with Harris on Season 13 of American Idol, shared a tribute on Instagram.
Meuse wrote that she was “fully shocked.”
“Your expertise and smile will probably be missed, and the world is certainly a darker and eerily quieter place with out you in it,” Meuse wrote. “If you undergo one thing like Idol collectively, it brings everybody concerned collectively like an enormous, bizarre, dysfunctional household. I’m grateful that our paths crossed and that I can say you have been (and all the time will probably be) part of mine.”
