Grammy-winning electronic music producer Cassian has cancelled upcoming tour dates after undergoing emergency appendix surgery this week, he announced on social media.
He shared the news with his followers on Instagram, describing how his condition deteriorated rapidly from mild discomfort to requiring immediate surgical intervention.
“I went from ‘my stomach kinda hurts’ to ‘you’re going into emergency surgery’ within 24 hours,” Cassian wrote in his post. He expressed gratitude to the medical team that performed the procedure without complications.
The surgery has thrown a wrench into Cassian’s current tour, forcing him to postpone his show at Dallas’ SILO venue tonight, August 8th. He’ll also miss a scheduled performance at Montréal’s îLESONIQ Music Festival this weekend.
The renowned Australian producer, who in 2024 was named by EDM.com as one of the year’s best audio engineers, assured fans he plans to return to his remaining summer tour dates once he’s cleared to travel. He’s scheduled to head to Poland, Budapest and Turkey in August before closing the month with a DJ set at Ibiza’s famed [UNVRS] club on the 26th.
“Hoping to see you all at the rest of the summer dates once i am able to travel – but my appendix will not be joining the party,” he wrote.
