We might not be seeing comic actor Mark Wahlberg on the big screen for a while.
The Ted actor, 52, hinted earlier this year that he is set to retire from acting after making the move from Hollywood to Las Vegas with his family.
“I’m certainly working harder now than ever. Certain businesses, you kind of build them, pass them on or you exit,” he told Cigar Aficionado earlier this year.
“Hopefully my kids, we’ll see what their interests are, but I don’t think that I’ll be acting that much longer at the pace I am now. That’s for sure. Because that’s the most difficult thing.”
In the same interview, the actor revealed what it was like to compete against other established A-list stars for blockbuster roles.
“I didn’t want to sit around waiting for Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise or whoever was already established before me and were the guys at the time, and Leo [DiCaprio] to go and pass on a movie until I could get my hands on it,” he added.
Earlier this month, Wahlberg also spoke about his move to Nevada with his wife and children after realising he needed to leave Tinseltown.
”There’s lots of opportunity here as well for me,” he told Fox News.
“We’re trying to create a studio. We’re trying to build the shoe factory. We want to create lots of jobs here.”
Wahlberg’s last movie was the 2022 film Father Stu.
