Is Chris Pratt coming back as Star-Lord or is he jumping ship to the DC Universe? The Guardians of the Galaxy star teased his superhero future during a surprise interview.
Ever since it was announced that James Gunn would be one of the main architects behind the new DC Universe, fans have been watching the Guardians of the Galaxy cast members to see if they will join his plans. Perhaps none more than Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt, who played it as cool as he could when ambushed by TMZ.
“Well, there’s always a chance. But of course, I wouldn’t be able to spoil it here on the sidewalk with you. I could, but I better not,” Pratt explained before being asked if he had a role in mind. “Man, I just have to leave that to the fans and people like James to decide. I’m not exactly sure. I’m truly not sure.”
Chris Pratt wouldn’t be the only Guardians of the Galaxy actor to join the DC Universe. James Gunn has already cast Nathan Fillion, who made cameos in two of the films, and seemingly has a role in mind for Pom Klementieff. Though could this mean the end of his time as Star-Lord?
Chris Pratt Speaks Out On Star-Lord’s Ending
The ending of the final Guardians of the Galaxy film suggested there was more in store for Star-Lord. However, could James Gunn pull Chris Pratt over to the DC Universe for good? When pressed on the issue, Pratt explained that there’s always a chance for Peter Quill to return to the MCU.
“Yes, of course, if I can fit it into my schedule and it made sense,” Pratt concluded regarding the DC Universe before adding. “Of course, I love playing Star-Lord so hopefully, there’s a chance that can come back. I just feel so blessed to to any of it and be considered for any of it.”
Given a Star-Lord solo film has been bandied around for years, it wouldn’t be shocking for Chris Pratt to continue his character beyond the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. He also wouldn’t be the only actor to juggle a role in both the DC Universe and MCU. Though what role that could be is likely up to James Gunn himself!
