Christina Applegate is spreading love in her first Instagram video after a reported months-long hospitalization.
The Dead to Me actress, 54, shared a clip showing off her newly dyed hair on Monday, September 21. In the footage, Applegate gave a glimpse of her blonde locks while sporting a black hoodie and gray tank top.
She wrote alongside the video, “Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.”
Fans and friends rallied to show Applegate support in the comments section of her post.
“Beautiful!” wrote Kyle Richards, while Jennie Garth commented, “Love it!💕💕💕.”
The actress also shared a selfie highlighting her fresh new look via her Instagram Stories.
In early August, TMZ reported that Applegate had been discharged from the hospital after nearly four months amid her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis. The outlet described her as “doing well.”

TMZ first reported Applegate’s apparent hospitalization in April, claiming she was admitted in late March.
“I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are,” a rep for the Sweetest Thing actress told Us at the time. “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”
Applegate shared an update on her health in an April 20 Instagram post.
“Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes. Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day,” she wrote. “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”

Applegate first went public with her MS diagnosis in August 2021 via X. The condition affects the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves, according to the National MS Society. Symptoms can include numbness, tingling, pain, fatigue, memory problems, mood changes, blindness and paralysis.
“Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS,” she shared at the time. “It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a**hole blocks it.”
“As one of my friends that has MS said, ‘We wake up and take the indicated action.’ And that’s what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo.”
In March, Applegate told NPR’s “Wild Card With Rachel Martin” podcast that she thinks about death “every day.”
“It’s looming. I mean, it looms for all of us,” Applegate said, adding that she has purchased a burial plot. “For people who have a disease like this, you never know, you know? … I bought my plots already, OK? I bought them. … There’s going to be three of us there. But I did. My friend and I are going to go take a picnic there. It’s really pretty where it is.”
