It was the moment at a concert that went on to break the internet.
But two months after former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot made headlines after being caught in an intimate embrace during the now-infamous kiss cam moment at a Coldplay concert, more has emerged about their relationship.
Byron, 53, was caught with his arms around Cabot, 51, at the Boston concert and they immediately pulled apart, which had everyone – even singer Chris Martin – speculating an affair was going on.
According to someone who knows Cabot, that isn’t the real story.
“Kristin and Andy [Byron] had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair,” the source tells People.
“It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it.
“But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job – all of that is unfair.”

The source claimed it’s “inappropriate” Cabot has been branded a homewrecker throughout the scandal.
“It’s unfathomable to witness what has happened, and how devastating it can be, for not just individuals, but entire families,” says the source.
Byron resigned as CEO of the company, while Cabot, who was working as the company’s chief people officer, has also resigned.
Earlier this month it was reported Cabot had filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew Cabot.
As per the papers obtained by Daily Mail, the 52-year-old filed a petition for divorce at a court in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on August 13, less than a month after the incident at the Coldplay concert.
In the days after that news broke, he finally addressed the scandal for the first time and broke his silence with a statement about the state of their marriage.

In the statement, shared by a spokeswoman of the Privateer Rum CEO, it revealed he and Kristin actually split weeks before the concert.
The statement to People confirmed they “were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert”.
“Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening. Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”
While there has been no updates on Byron and his wife Megan, many have noted that she has removed the name “Byron” from her surname on social media.
