Melrose Place star Courtney Thorne-Smith is calling it quits on her 18-year marriage to husband Roger Fishman.
The actress, 57, filed for divorce by herself without the help of an attorney and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason why she and Fishman will no longer be continuing their marriage, according to court records obtained by People.

The actress filed for joint custody of herself and the author’s 17-year-old son, Jacob Emerson, while requesting that the court terminate the option for spousal support for both herself and her ex-husband.
The former couple have been separated since September 2021, according to the filing.
They wed on New Years Day in 2007.
Thorne-Smith was previously married to geneticist Andrew Conrad from 2000-2001 according to TMZ, but was most famously linked to her Melrose Place co-star Andrew Shue.

The pair had gotten together and broken up while their characters were just starting to date, with the former couple speaking about maintaining professional boundaries.
In the podcast Still the Place, which the actress co-hosts with fellow stars Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton, Thorne-Smith said their break-up was “shockingly not weird”.
Shue added that “there was a little bit of time where it was tough.”

Thorne-Smith recalled setting some ground rules for when their characters, Allison Parker and Billy Campbell, had to kiss on-screen.
“Do you remember me having to talk with you because the characters were still dating and you and I weren’t dating?” she recalled.
“So we’d been broken up for two months and then we had to kiss. You remember me saying, ‘Okay, now we’re professionals, no tongue?'”

“Because we were dating before we were dating on the show, then we were dating on the show after we broke up in real life,” she explained.
“But you and I segued into friendship really well. I don’t remember a lot of tension.”
Shue agreed that the pair supported each other through the breakup.
“Yeah, our relationship, we helped carry each other through a very intense time,” he said.
“The show got a lot of attention. I know you had already been fairly well known, but we were dealing with a lot of, we’ll call it Fox celebrity craziness.
“And I remember just feeling safe knowing we were together guiding each other through it.”
