Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe recently spoke about his son in an interview withE! News. While speaking about balancing fatherhood and his Broadway schedule, the actor also detailed how his son continues to inspire his performances.
“I mean, there’s some ways in which, uh, theater’s great for having a kid cause you get so much time during the day to be with them, but the six days a week does get like that gets tough eventually, and like I, I really missed him,” he said when asked about his Broadway schedule. “He was fine. He didn’t miss me. I missed him a lot. Um, and honestly, uh, I found having, like, doing a show that is about saying something that says something about the world that I really wanted to be a part of saying,” Radcliffe added.
“Um, my son’s a real inspiration in wanting to say that, and in wanting to like, you know, and when I was thinking about certain things in the show, I would think about him a lot. So he was actually he was quite energizing,” he further said about his son.
When asked if Radcliffe hopes that one day his son will watch his performance, he said, “If he likes any of them, that will feel like a victory as a parent. I feel like I don’t know. I feel like nothing your parents do is cool. So he’ll probably just watch me and be like, ‘What are you doing? This is not, you know.’ And God forbid he ever watches the film where me and his mom, who’s here tonight, met on, cuz it’s just it’s just going to be an awkward watch for a variety of reasons for him.”
