The Kingdoms mode for Darkest Dungeon 2 has three campaigns, starting with Hunger Of The Beast Clan. This lengthy quest will see you traverse many different regions as you defend Inns from the Beastmen. You’ll do this in part by upgrading them with powerful options like Veteran militia, Wainwright pets, and more. Given the difficulty, Darkest Dungeon 2 beginners will want some tips to get going.
To complete this Kingdoms quest, you’ll have to find and deliver various items before the Day timer reaches the limit. If that happens before you’ve delivered everything and fought the final boss, your kingdom will be overrun, and you’ll lose. Finding them and knowing where to deliver them is the hard part.

You Are Now A Courier Service
After fighting the initial battles at the beginning of the campaign, you’ll receive Spyglass at the Inn. Equip this to your Stagecoach, then look for a Watchtower in the next region. Soon after, you’ll receive Handdrawn Map, which you must deliver to the next Inn.
When choosing region nodes like the Watchtower, you don’t need to prioritize the quest ones at all costs. If you find a great option that doesn’t progress the quest, and it’s a choice between the two, go for the former. Just make regular progress to ensure you don’t fall behind.
Upon delivering the Handdrawn Map, you’ll receive Ambulance Designation. With this equipped to your Stagecoach, you’ll need to find two Hospitals and two Hoarders. Upon each visit, you’ll receive 2x Healers and 2x Medical Supplies.

Take the 4x Healers and 4x Medical Supplies to a besieged Inn with your main party. You’ll know it’s under Siege because there will be a large red skull above it. Once you’ve fought the battle there, you’ll receive Child’s Plea.
It’s not a top priority, but you can use Location Scouting items and/or Watchtowers to find the locations you need more quickly.
With Child’s Plea in hand, visit a Field Hospital by looking for a medical + symbol on a region map. There you’ll receive Pungent Offal. Equip it to someone on your team, then visit any Creature Den in any region. You can find Creature Dens by looking for a tree symbol on the region map. Once there, use the Pungent Offal against one of the Huntsmen in Round 2.
After the battle, you’ll receive Wounded Survivor. Deliver him to the Inn to receive Survivor’s Tale, which you must use as an Inn item on your party. Next, you’ll receive Cold Storage.

The Kingdoms mode in Darkest Dungeon 2 comes with its own set of challenges. As such, you’ll need a specific kind of party to ensure victory.
Now for the hard part. Once in Escalation 2, equip Cold Storage, then win a fight in each main region. If you need a refresher, the five regions include Tundra, Tangle, Sprawl, Shroud, and Foetor. Upon winning each fight, you’ll receive three Mauled Body parts for a total of 15 parts. That means you’ll need to temporarily sacrifice 15 inventory slots to progress the quest, so be prepared.
Once you have all 15 items, deliver them to any Inn. After Escalation 3 triggers, equip the four Rotting Dead items, then win five road battles. If you’re unfamiliar, road battles occur in the middle of the road between nodes like Assistance Encounters, Hospitals, and so on. These will not occur before Escalation 3, so if you’re not seeing them, that’s why.
After receiving a total of 20 Beast Hide from road battles, your next travel will see you find a Creature Den, but this time it’s called an Alpha Den. Defeat the Beastmen here to receive the Alpha Rot Claw’s Head trophy. Equip the trophy to head to the newly unlocked boss location. Defeat him, and you’ll have beaten the Hunger Of The Beast Clan Kingdoms Quest in Darkest Dungeon 2.
