The episode opens with Taylor and Deacon daydreaming about each other separately. Steffy and Finn then interrupt Taylor, revealing that they are heading out to pick up the kids from their camping trip. She worries that her mother might get too lonely once they leave, but is proud that she has moved on from Deacon.
Elsewhere, Sheila asks Deacon if he could cancel his plans with Hope and come to bed with her. Deacon straightforwardly refuses, but Sheila doesn’t take it badly; rather, she appreciates him for being an incredible father. She credits Taylor for the positive impact on Deacon.

Deacon fools Sheila
Hope and Liam engage in a makeout session and are happy to be alone, spending some quality time together at Brooke’s house. Liam senses that Hope looks worried about something and quickly asks her about her concerns. Hope reveals that she’s worried about her dad.
Following Deacon’s refusal to stay home, Sheila plants a kiss and leaves. Deacon immediately calls Hope and mentions that he lied to his wife about having dinner plans with her. Hope understands that he lied to see Taylor and hopes that he will have fun with his new beau. She is happy to cover for her dad.
Hope’s opinions on her dad’s love life
Liam brings up the snack tray, and they joke about staying in this moment forever before discussing the Sheila-Deacon situation. Hope reveals that there is a chance Deacon could leave Sheila and live his life with the person he truly loves. This thought puts her at ease.
Sheila is on the way to Taylor’s place
Sheila runs into Li, who had come to pick up pizza for Finn, Steffy, and the kids, only to realise they were heading out on their camping trip. It then clicks for Sheila that Taylor will be home alone.
They briefly discuss Finn before Li reveals that she is aware Deacon has plans with Hope. Li also proposes that they have lunch together next week. An employee mentions extra flowers, which gives Sheila the idea to visit Taylor’s place.
Taylor and Deacon’s secret night
Once Steffy and Finn leave, Taylor is alone, but later welcomes Deacon through the patio door. Without wasting a moment, they embrace and begin making out. Deacon reveals that he missed Taylor and assures her that he parked his car elsewhere so no one would suspect he was there. He also admits that he lied to Sheila about having plans with Hope and instead came to see her.
Taylor reveals that even if she is breaking her daughter’s trust, she wants to be with Deacon. Reconfessing his feelings, Deacon says that Taylor is the one who taught him what it feels like to be loved. As the two of them enjoy the night together, Sheila picks up flowers and heads toward Taylor’s place. Deacon and Taylor soon engage in a passionate kiss.
