A flashy video documenting dogs’ rescue from a testing lab that was deserted by Democratic Congressman Shri Thanedar sparked an uproar online. The video, as per the conservative outlet Libs of TikTok, says that most animals had never seen the outside world. The tweet became a hotbed of criticism soon after, with a lot of people calling stridently for Thanedar’s resignation, if not arrest.

Distressed dogs, with some showing visible signs of stress, were shown in the video being led to freedom by rescuers in NJ. According to reports, the animals are said to have been psychologically traumatized due to being kept in drab rubber-walled cells for animal testing in laboratories, presumably for decades. Progressive issues are supposedly much-hailed by Thanedar, who presently is being terribly scrutinized for alleged endorsement of animal testing. The circumstances become extra awkward with him practically declaring open warfare on Donald Trump.
There were furious and swift reactions. User Simona Rizescu kept no prisoner, calling Democrats ‘devilish’ in a tweet said to have enjoyed some traction. Another game-changing response by LightMetal took an even wider swing into the moral decay allegedly induced by immigration policy writ large. However, not everyone was convinced by the outrage; David Sydow voiced a kind of what-about-ism about Musk’s own animal-testing controversies.
The crying and screaming were rather exaggerated. This gives rise to a few comments, like those of Rollo T.: “What a weirdo-looking MFer.” An anonymous BlueEyedEagle called for instant arrests. Pop culture references were also thrown in about this event; Stacy C. Edwards joked that ‘just remember John Wick went on a rampage for one beagle, not 118!’
Animal rights activists joined the fray. Hypocritical L made a not-so-nice turn and began discussing tests under torture like the Draize Eye Irritancy Test and said that 90 percent of tests on animals from laboratories fail on humans. Michele T Shepherd blandly wondered why animal testing is legal if cruelty is considered a felony.
When it came to the politics of it, many other correspondents pronounced the question of how someone with this alleged background got into office in the first place. Others, like Nathalie, called for extreme OTT punishments: ‘Solitary confinement for life. Let that Filth starve to death in the dark.’

Thanedar has not publicly commented on this issue. However, it looks like this incident is going down for all the wrong reasons with him. With midterms approaching, this has now become yet another liability for the unimpressive Democrats. The real question that needs to be asked right now is whether those outraged would turn the outrage into political action, but it is clear this is not fading quietly into the night! But hey, one thing is for sure: at least the dogs made it out. You’ve got to appreciate the small wins, right?
