The Walt Disney Company recently released a new poster and trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the Star Wars spin-off, Andor. The Disney+ series is a prequel following the titular character Cassian Andor, introduced in 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The first season of Andor was released in 2022 to widespread critical acclaim. The second and final season will have 12 episodes, split into four story arcs of three episodes each. The first three episodes will air on April 22, 2025, only on Disney+.

The new poster can be seen above, giving us glimpses of returning cast members Diego Luna, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgard, and Genevieve O’Reilly. It additionally shows characters returning from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, including Orson Krennic (played by Ben Mendelsohn), K-2SO (played by Alan Tudyk), and Saw Gerrera (played by Forest Whitaker).
The second season will take place over the four-year gap between Andor’s first season and Rogue One, directly tying into the 2016 film. Disney had this to say about the upcoming season:
Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound. Rife with political intrigue and danger, the series is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction—The Death Star—setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film. Andor sets the clock back five years from the events of Rogue One to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation from disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.
The series was created by Tony Gilroy, who also serves as an executive producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna, Luke Hull and John Gilroy. Tony Gilroy wrote the first three episodes, with subsequent episodes written by Beau Willimon, Dan Gilroy and Tom Bissell. Directors for the series include Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz and Alonso Ruizpalacios.
