Halle Bailey has responded to fans who claim she ‘gaslit’ them by keeping her pregnancy private.
A user on Twitter came for The Little Mermaid actress due to the fact that she decided not to share that she was pregnant until after she had given birth.
She managed to hide her secret throughout multiple public appearances, however there was speculation circulating that she may have been expecting.

“I don’t think people are mad she hid her pregnancy,” wrote a fan on X, speaking about Bailey. “People are more so annoyed that she went out of her way to lie and gaslight about it.”
Bailey was quick to respond, making sure to clearly outline that she never lied or said anything about her pregnancy, aside from making a small joke about her ‘pregnancy nose’.

“I’ll never understand why you are mad I protected my own peace,” the actress responded via X. “Wouldn’t you do the same?
“And I’m gonna share my pics now if I want to because my son is here safely, if u don’t wanna see it just keep scrolling baby lol God bless you!”
Fans continued to call Bailey out for what they deemed as ‘unfair’ behaviour, saying if she didn’t want to share her pregnancy with them, then they don’t want to hear or see about her child now that he’s born.
“Halle, baby. Kill it,” wrote another X user. “You didn’t tell us bout the baby then. You didn’t speak then. Don’t speak now & leave us out the conversation. Enjoy your jit in peace. We don’t care.”
Bailey and her rapper partner DDG announced the birth of their son via a post on Instagram three weeks ago.
“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” she wrote alongside an image of her baby’s hand. “Welcome to the world my halo ??? ✨the world is desperate to know you.”

The actress first sparked pregnancy rumours back in September when she attended the MTV Video Music Awards in a flowy dress.
The rumours were only further fuelled when she appeared at the December premiere of The Colour Purple in a big dress, both seemingly hiding a baby bump according to fans.
A source from inside the MTV Video Music Awards told Page Six that, “Halle stayed away from the pink carpet so she would not be photographed, and when she was inside, she was very mindful in the way she gave hugs, and who she gave them to.”
