Drew Barrymore‘s wild act in front of a live studio audience has left fans shocked.
The actress, 50, whipped out her bare toes and had her co-stars smell them on her talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show.
During a segment on foot health, her co-panellist Sunny Anderson brought up a story about how often experts recommend we wash our feet, commenting that when she smelled Barrymore’s feet last year they smelled “divine”.

Before Anderson could continue, Barrymore had already taken her heel off and brought her foot up to her nose, smelling it and extending it to Anderson and co-star Ross Mathews.
Anderson made sure to “double check”, confirming that “it smells like a whole lot of nothing, that’s what you want.”
Barrymore added, “There’s no scent there whatsoever – and believe me, I have other issues,” as the audience howled with laughter at the shocking display.

Anderson went on to explain that foot care experts are urging people to wash their feet.
The audience weighed in, with 85 per cent sharing that they wash their feet every day, 10 per cent wash their feet every week ( with Barrymore interjecting to say she was in that category), and two per cent do not wash their feet, just letting water run over their toes.

The most awkward moments in TV talk show history
Barrymore then went to approach one audience member who admitted to doing just that, bonding over their dirty feet.
The Charlie’s Angels star added, “I have a shower and the few times I’ve tried to put soap on my feet, I almost died and slipped and fell!”
It’s not the only odd act the talk-show host commits on her show, with the star often curled up on the couch with celebrity guests as she sits very close to them – sometimes uncomfotably so.
Addressing the attention her affectionate nature has garnered on social media, Barrymore acknowledged some viewers feel strange about her physical interactions with her guests.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight after her talk show was renewed for seasons 6 and 7, the star revealed: “I’ll try to practise physical distance, which is not my strong point.”
“Do you know how hard the pandemic was for me? I was alone in a studio by myself! I like to be around people!” she continued.
The daytime talk host added that she understands her affectionate personality isn’t always appreciated: “I’m sorry to those people!”
“I think that first of all, we’re always gonna be big on joy and laughter and feeling good, and that was something I always wanted to do, but I never thought we would launch in a pandemic, and trying to lean into the joy and the feel good and the comedy at that time was real weird and wacky,” she shared.
“I am so into working on myself as a person that I think that’s always gonna be a big part of the show: ‘How do we live a life? How do we thrive and not just survive?’
“I love listening to people. I love learning from people. I’m a student. I will never not be a student.”
