The Rock just can’t catch a break! Fans have caught a jab at Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam in the recent release of MultiVersus.
Dwayne Johnson expected Black Adam to take the world by storm. Warner Bros. believed him, putting the titular anti-hero into their blossoming platform fighter MultiVersus. However, within a few months, it became clear that both the film and the game was a flop, with The Rock leaving the DC Universe and MultiVersus being pulled from online storefronts.
Fresh off a relaunch, it seems MultiVersus holds no warmth in its heart for Black Adam or Dwayne Johnson. When using the Batman Who Laughs skin while fighting the King of Khandaq, the character takes a quick jab at The Rock, remarking “Weren’t you supposed to be ‘rearranging the hierarchy’ or something?” as a play on the film’s tagline.
The Rock’s Legacy As Black Adam
It’s a shame that a superhero project helmed by one of the biggest actors of all time has been reduced to a joke in a B-List platform fighter (No offense to MultiVersus and Player First Games). However, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam has grown to be emblematic of the issues that plagued the DC Universe for years, if only due to its sky-high budget.
Dwayne Johnson’s own reputation isn’t doing much better than Black Adam‘s. The Rock has been accused of unprofessional behavior on the set of Red One in a recent report by The Wrap. In addition, the actor has been heckled about his Hollywood failures even during his return to the WWE. It seems the Hierarchy of Power truly has changed for the actor, just not for the better.
