While no date has been confirmed, the expected release of Team Of The Year is Friday 17 January 2025. Traditionally, the nominees are released in the opening week of January, with fans then given two weeks to vote for their favorites. Over the last few years, the Team Of The Year has been fully announced on a Thursday, with them available in game from 6pm the following day. If this follows suit in 2025, the magic date to look for is 17 January.
After the promotional window has ended, you can still buy Team Of The Year Players on the transfer market.
Once we reach the date, each of the four categories of players will feature in packs separately for 24 hours. So the Attackers, Midfielders, Defenders and finally the selected Goalkeepers. After they have had their own windows, all of the Team Of The Year players are then available for a further period in packs throughout EA Sports FC 25. In previous years, this has been for three or four days.

Which 12 Players Will Be Suggested
In recent years, 12 players have been selected for Team Of The Year on both the men’s and women’s side of the game. Last year, both teams were selected using 4-3-3 formations with one player for each position. In addition, a 12th player is also picked to be part of the promotion.
While Team Of The Year is largely in the hands of the fans, it is safe to say a number of those that have performed well over the last 12 months will feature. Real Madrid conquered all in Spain and Europe last year as they won the Champions League and despite being snubbed for the Balon D’or title, stars such as one of the fastest players Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, will be included.
Away from club football, Spain dominated throughout as they won the European Championship led by Manchester City star Rodri. He featured in last year’s Team of The Year and will surely star again. Despite no longer featuring in the major leagues, both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were in the 12 last year and if they are up for nomination expect fans to vote for both in their numbers once again.

The Women’s game does differ in Ultimate Team due to the number of teams and players that are in EA Sports FC 25 as opposed to their male counterparts. This means more of the players from the top teams are likely to be nominated.
Last year only one player, Sophia Smith, was selected for the Team Of The Year outside of Europe.
Nominations are expected to be dominated by the big powerhouses from Europe, in particular from The Spanish, French and English top flights. A number of the Barcelona team are some of the highest rated players in EA Sports FC 25. Both Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas scored in the Champions League final and they are expected to have the highest rated cards if they are included.
How To Get Team Of The Year Cards In Ultimate Team
Open Packs And Buy Players On The Transfer Market
There are two main ways to add the powerful Team Of The Year cards to your club in Ultimate Team. The first is through opening packs with either coins or FC points. Any points earned through playing the game or selling players can be used to buy special promotional packs with an increased chance of featuring a Team Of The Year card. However, this does not come cheap and these packs are the most expensive so far since the game launched in September.
The other way is by buying the players on the transfer market from other gamers. However, again, this comes at a cost as they are the most valuable cards in the game, also making them the most in-demand cards in EA Sports FC 25. The cards will come down in price, but during the promotion, you will need to break the bank to find them.
The final option is to complete any SBCs available during the promotion, as any that rewards you with packs could also contain the special Team Of The Year cards. Team Of The Year remains the main promotion every year in EA Sports FC 25, and you should take part in January to improve your Ultimate Team.
