The budget of Marvel’s Echo has seemingly been revealed. The show’s cost set a record among Marvel’s Disney Plus shows.
Marvel has been setting records with their Disney Plus offerings, with shows like Secret Invasion boxing with some blockbuster movies when it comes to their budget. However, it seems not every show is breaking the bank. A new report by Forbes suggests Echo set the record for the cheapest Marvel Cinematic Universe series with a budget of only $40 million.
Of course, this number needs to be taken in context. Echo is a show with minimal CGI and a lot less star power compared to other Disney Plus shows like Secret Invasion, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, or even Loki. This doesn’t prove the budgets for those shows were overblown, just that Marvel can make character-focused shows for cheaper. Given the success of Echo, that may be the direction the MCU should focus on going into the future.
Alaqua Cox’s Hawkeye spinoff series is the tenth overall original Marvel Studios series for Disney Plus. It’s also one of two live-action spin-offs from a previous series — the other being the WandaVision offshoot Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Serving as executive producers on Echo are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre, and Jason Gavin, while Amy Rardin, Sydney Freeland, Christina King, and Jennifer Booth serve as co-executive producers.
