Does Miles Teller hold any ill will toward Marvel? The former Fantastic Four star has shared his thoughts on Marvel’s upcoming movie reboot.
2015’s Fantastic Four film, christened by fans as Fant4stic, is one of the worst and most infamous films in Marvel’s entire catalog. While many members of the reboot’s cast, such as Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, have gone on to do great things, fans are all too eager to leave the project behind as The Fantastic Four: First Steps barrels toward the Marvel Cinematic Universe later this year.
Yet, even though Fant4stic was a bomb, that doesn’t mean that the cast doesn’t hold a special place in the cinematic history of the Fantastic Four. During the promotional tour of his recent film The Gorge, Miles Teller was asked if he had any thoughts about Marvel’s upcoming take on the team in the MCU. It seems Teller only has the best of wishes for the team behind The Fantastic Four: First Steps, saying he’s excited to see the project once it hits the big screen.
“I wish them all the best. I don’t wish anybody to be a part of a bomb. It’s just a marker on their career that, for some people, takes longer to get over than others. So I just wish them the best. I saw the little trailer, I thought it looked fantastic.”
Could Miles Teller Return To The MCU?
Despite how poorly received Fant4stic was and how excited people are for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Miles Teller has become somewhat of a paragon among Marvel fans for the potential of the multiverse. For years, Marvel fans have campaigned for the actor to get a shot at redemption in the MCU by way of playing the evil Reed Richards variant known as The Maker as the Multiverse saga comes to a close over the next two years.
Given that former Fantastic Four star Chris Evans has already reprised his role as the Human Torch in the MCU in Deadpool and Wolverine, there’s already a precedent for Marvel to bring back former Fantastic Four cast members. Though given how close projects like Avengers: Doomsday are to filming, it’s not likely Miles Teller will get his shot at redemption if the studio hasn’t already asked him to play The Maker on the silver screen.
