There’s nothing more warm and fuzzy than seeing the cast of some of the best film and television of our time get together to discuss their project and its ever-lasting mark on pop culture.
Here are some of the best renions that will leave you wanting to watch them again and again.
The Castle
Three cast members of iconic Aussie film The Castle reunited earlier this year in a brewery in Marrickville, Sydney, quite fittingly with planes flying overhead.
Watch the video above.
“We knew it was good. We had no idea it would go off the way it went off,” Michael Caton, who played patriarch Darryl Kerrigan, told nine.com.au as he caught up with his on-screen sons for the first time in 25 years.
Stephen Curry, who played his son and narrator of the film Dale Kerrigan, said to this day the movie has “the funniest script I’ve ever read”.

“On the page, there were belly laughs right through the entire thing,” the 49-year-old grinned.
Anthony Simcoe, who played Dale’s brother Steven Kerrigan admitted there was some hesitance when the film first came out.
“Some people, when it came out, went, ‘Oh, it’s mocking working-class families’,” the 56-year-old recalled.
“I went, ‘That’s my family. That’s how we talk. That’s what we do. That’s how I grew up’.”
Curry added, “There’s such a heart in the film… It’s so much about the love within that family.
“That concept of, ‘It’s not a house, it’s a home,’ I think is something that everyone wants to aspire to.”
Matilda
Around two decades on from the iconic children’s film, the cast of Matilda reunited for an afternoon tea party full of shenanigans.
Afternoon Tea, a Matilda Reunion was released alongside the original film on BluRay in 2013, with the cast re-creating many of the iconic scenes.
In line with the afternoon tea theme, they couldn’t skip a recreation of the Bruce Bogtrotter chocolate cake scene.
Pam Ferris, who played the villain Miss Trunchbull, perfectly recited her lines, shouting them at Jimmy Karz, who played Bogtrotter in the 1996 film and was forced to scarf down an entire chocolate cake.
Ferris also recreated a memorable scene with Amanda Thripp in which she swung her around by her pigtails.
Jacqueline Steiger, who played the little girl, had since cut off her hair, but Ferris quickly improvised by mentioning her dangly earrings instead.
Harry Potter
There’s no film franchise more magical than the Harry Potter one, which continues to capture the hearts of those young and old.
In 2021, the cast reunited to celebrate two decades since the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was released in 2001.

In Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, the ‘golden trio’ – Harry, Hermione and Ron – sat in the Gryffindor common room to reminisce about the film.
The TV special also featured talent such as Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, and Tom Felton, as well as the filmmakers and mentions of the late cast members such as Alan Rickman.
Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger over the 11 films, shared, “It feels like no time has passed and loads of time has passed.”
Daniel Radcliffe, who played the titular protagonist, said something that had scared him was “the implication that the most meaningful thing in our life was done,” and that seeing everyone is “joyous” because he realises “it wasn’t though.”
“When things get really dark, and times are really hard, there’s something about Harry Potter that makes life richer,” Watson said, with Rupert Grint (who played Ron Weasley) adding, “It’s a strong bond that we’ll always have.”
Friends
Our favourite Friends – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry – gathered on the couch one last time in 2021 to reminisce about the insanely popular ’90s show.
They recalled memories from their time together and talked about what their characters would be doing in the present day.
”I was flooded with 10 years of irreplaceable memories,” Cox told People of the reunion.
LeBlanc added, “It’s funny, when we do get together, it’s like no time has passed. We pick up right where we left off.”
It would turn out to be the final on-screen appearance for Perry, who died by accidental drowning in 2023, aged 54.
School of Rock
More than 20 years after School of Rock came out in 2003, many of the stars of the iconic movie reunited for a very special occasion.
Kids from the fictional School of Rock band reunited in January 2025 to celebrate two of their castmates getting married!
Rivkah Reyes, who played bassist Katie in the film, shared a TikTok video of the cast partying it up at their co-stars’ Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli’s wedding.
“Celebrating the marriage of CAITLIN & ANGELO with my forever fam,” Reyes captioned the clip of the group all sitting together at the reception and having fun on the dance floor.
The star used the song Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks for the video, which is sung in the movie by Joan Cusack’s straight-laced character Principal Mullins.
At one point in the night, many of the stars posed together for a photo booth picture – including the bride and groom.
Cole Hawkins, Brian Falduto, Joey Gaydos Jr., Maryam Hassan, and Robert Tsai were among the now all grown up cast spotted at the wedding.
Maryam Hassan, who starred as vocalist Tomika in the movie, also shared a video from the rare reunion, including this print-out photo of the cast all together.
“1st post of the year and what better way to kick it off than with my framily of 20+ years?!” she captioned the post on Instagram.
“I spent the past weekend witnessing Caitlyn & Angelo get married and it was absolutely beautiful and the perfect little reunion for us all!!!”
Reyes shared a heartwarming clip of the newlyweds dancing together.
Hale stunned in a strapless white dress with glittery heels on while Massagli looked dapper in a suit.
Hale and Massagli portrayed Marta and Frankie respectively in the 2003 hit film.
The couple went public with their relationship in 2021 after striking up a romance many years on from their film.
The co-stars began dating in 2016 after reconnecting at a cast reunion.
One of the School of Rock stars noticeably missing was the leading man himself, Jack Black, though he did appear with his class at the 10 year reunion, where the cast performed It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll).
The Goonies
The cast of the 1985 film took their signature catchphrase literally when they said, “Goonies never say die!”
Forty years after the film premiered, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, Corey Feldman, and screenwriter Chris Columbus attended a hand-and-footprint ceremony at the famed TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles in honour of their fellow cast member Ke Huy Quan.
Quan, 54, enjoyed success as a child actor, appearing in The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom before leaving acting behind for almost 20 years due to a lack of roles for Asian Americans.
He revived his career with the critically acclaimed film Everything Everywhere All at Once in 2022, nabbing himself a best supporting actor Oscar for his comeback role.
During the ceremony, Brolin read from a letter from The Goonies executive producer Steven Spielberg.
“I’m proud of you for your meteoric rise as a child,” it read, “and then your second meteoric rise as a grown-up, and believe me, very few of us get two bites of that apple.”
Brolin also shared his thoughts, telling the audience, “I won’t say much other than after The Goonies, I too lived in the ethers of our business for 19-plus years.
“The only difference being that I was still chipping away at leftovers and trading stocks full time, while you pursued a whole other profession and excelled in it famously.”
Quan had taken up stunt choreography and assistant directing in the years since his child acting days.
In reaction to the speeches, he told Too Fab “I couldn’t control my emotions.”
“Honestly, I love that movie so much. It’s one of the greatest adventures of my life,” he said, adding that he’d be happy to work on a sequel.
