Nicole Curtis possibly just made her scandal worse with her new interview…
Perezcious readers will recall HGTV cancelled her show, Rehab Addict, last month after footage surfaced of her saying the N-word in 2022. She offered a lackluster apology afterward and continued to defend herself, saying someone stole it, manipulated the clip to make her look bad, blackmailed her, and sold it to a tabloid — all while forgetting that this doesn’t excuse what she did. At the end of the day, the offensive word came out of her own mouth.

And Nicole is not done trying to come up with excuses for what happened. The 49-year-old former reality star appeared on The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, claiming she meant to say “fart digger” and “fart knocker” instead. She explained she isn’t allowed to “swear on [her] show,” so she “made up these crazy words.” What she says next is absolutely wild, though! She blamed the racial slur controversy on being a boy mom! No joke! She told Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy:
“Do you have boys? Boys talk about farts all the time. I don’t have a rhyme or reason of the words that I make up. I say nonsense stuff all the time. I’m off the cuff. I’m not scripted.”
Her explanation obviously raised the hosts’ eyebrows, with Charlamagne calling her out for how “naturally” the word came out of her mouth. He further questioned why Nicole was “digging for farts” and kept bringing up how she lived in Detroit:
“So your best friends are black and you live in the hood? What are you trying to prove here when you keep saying you’re from Detroit? … I’m trying to figure out what you are trying to say.”
When Charlamagne slammed her for “coming to a black radio show and trying to explain” the scandal, Nicole said she isn’t “afraid of confrontation” before adding:
“You’re right. I came here to have an open conversation, and I didn’t have to. … I didn’t come on here to prove myself.”
Charlamagne then told Nicole to “apologize to Black people” directly to the camera, to which she told everyone she does “not condone” the slur. She also asked those praising her language not to use her as a “poster child for some bulls**t.” Watch the interview (below):
