The first trailer for the Sony’s Kraven the Hunter film starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson has officially been released!
Fans have long awaited any news about the upcoming Kraven the Hunter solo movie by Sony Pictures. The film’s first trailer teases a grim hunt gone wrong, supernatural powers, and the first looks at Ariana DeBose as Calypso and Alessandro Nivola as the Rhino. The full trailer can be seen below, along with a poster featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular Spider-Man vilalin.
Nobody could have expected Kraven the Hunter to give Aaron Taylor-Johnson a magical connection to animals, nor that Alessandro Nivola’s Rhino would be an ACTUAL Rhino (perhaps as penance for Paul Giamatti’s infamous take on the character). However, the movie does promise Kraven’s trademark brutality in a way no other character can deliver.
Who is Kraven the Hunter?
A ruthless big game hunter who seeks the ultimate challenge in hunting Spider-Man, Kraven was first introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #15. In the comics, Kraven is known for his physical strength, expert tracking skilll and his use of a serum that gives him enhanced abilities.
One of the most striking aspects of the Kraven the Hunter footage was Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s outfit, which featured the signature fur coat of Sergei Kravinoff. The coat has been a staple of Kraven’s look since his comic book debut and fans are excited to see it translated to the big screen. The coat is a nod to Kraven’s roots as a big game hunter, adding to his menacing presence.
Kraven the Hunter was written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk, with Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and David Householter on board as producers. While the footage did not reveal much about the plot of Sony’s latest live-action Marvel adaptation, it did provide a glimpse into its tone and style.
As the release date of Kraven the Hunter approaches, Marvel fans can expect more footage and information to be released. For now, the CinemaCon footage has given us a taste of what’s to come, and it looks like Kraven is poised to make a big impact on the superhero movie landscape.
