“A force that believes the future belongs to neither man nor beast.” From the creators of the dinosaur movie Primitive War last year comes a brand new vision of a dinosaur-filled universe. Filmmaker Luke Sparke and his VFX collaborators are working on another new project now called Dinosaurs of the Wild West. And yes it’s exactly as it sounds. Dinos in the wild west riding along with cowboys instead of horses. Inspired by the illustrated world and artwork of creator Shaun Keenan, Dinosaurs of the Wild West blends large-scale storytelling with prehistoric spectacle. The series imagines a world where humanity didn’t build civilization on horses and steam… but on dinosaurs. But what about the story this time? Who are we following into the frontier? The year is 1879, humans and dinosaurs have evolved together, but as the frontier grows stronger so does the threat of extinction… but this time, it won’t be natural. Ha ha. Narrated by actor Jesse Kove. There are now two teaser trailers available as they’re also launching a Kickstarter to get money to fund the project. For the moment, Sparke’s Dinosaurs of the Wild West is being pitched a series with a goal to make two episodes and see how it goes. As with Primitive War, all this dino VFX footage looks pretty dang good.
Here’s the first teaser trailers for Luke Sparke’s sci-fi movie Dinosaurs of the Wild West, from YouTube:
The Kickstarter intro: “Instead of waiting years for a network to decide whether this should exist, we’re putting that decision directly in the hands of audiences. It was heartwarming to see the teaser liked and shared so enthusiastically by millions of fans. That response is entirely down to audiences embracing the concept, it tells us everything we need to know about whether this world deserves to exist. Creators are past the point of proving they can go direct to fans – Chris Stuckmann’s Shelby Oaks becoming the highest funded horror Kickstarter of all time solidified that. Dinosaurs of the Wild West is our version of that moment with our own built-in audience. This is a pre-order model – if enough fans around the world show up and claim their place, we’re away.”

“We want to create the greatest dinosaur series of all time.” In an alternate frontier, humanity navigates a dangerous land where every journey, every town, every war depend on the giant creatures that shaped civilization itself. But now, something is rising that threatens to change the world & dinosaur connection forever. Dinosaurs of the Wild West is an epic adventure series that reimagines the American frontier through a world millions of years in the making. Dinosaurs of the Wild West is directed by B-movie genre filmmaker Luke Sparke, also director of Red Billabong, Occupation, Occupation: Rainfall, Devil Beneath, Bring Him to Me, Scurry, and Primitive War previously. The screenplay is also written by Luke Sparke. The initial goal will produce the first 2 episodes of the series. It is produced by Carmel Imrie, Carly Sparke, and Luke Sparke; with executive producers Geoff Imrie, Eric Weick, Colin Hurdle, Kelly Clifford, Luke Sparke.
