Gal Gadot has expressed her desire to play the Evil Queen in Disney’s 2025 live-action film ‘Snow White’ again, which was her role in the first place. Her re-enactment of the role was the announcement in US Weekly, of-course, was received with the same quick and mostly negative public reaction, making it a reminder for all to discuss again her acting talent and the movie’s overall reception.

The comment made by the ‘Wonder Woman’ actress about the villainous character’s re-emergence seemed to give way to the laying open of the critical commentaries. The response was not so much about the enthusiasm for a possible sequel as a unified letting out of the dislikes. One social media user articulated the general sentiment in a very straightforward manner through a comment that said: ‘Well, at least that is one person,’ which alluded to the fact that the actor may be the only one wanting this to happen.
A good portion of the dissatisfaction was aimed directly at Gadot’s supposed weak acting range. Someone asked, ‘What about she reprises her acting classes,’ and that sneer was joined by others who were wondering if acting was needed at all for the part. One user was even more direct while making a comment that literally said, ‘She is already playing that character in real life. Plus her acting is dog shit.’ The thinker that Gadot was just being herself kept coming back, another user remarking, ‘Its gal gadot she wasnt acting she really is just the evil queen.’
The discussion was not only about her acting quality. Some people outright questioned if there could be a sequel at all, the reason one such person gave was, ‘There’s a million reasons why there’s never gonna be a sequel to that awful movie.’ Others considered her longing for more parts only a financial issue, saying, ‘She’d love another fat disney check.’ The vast majority of the audience clearly wished for a different actress to be cast in the part entirely, there were some claims like ‘give the role to Sabrina von B’ and statements that ‘we already have the evil queen,’ these came along with images of other actors.
However, from the whole negativity that surrounded the announcement, there came one single voice supporting the opposite view. A user put forward a well-reasoned argument that the role was the best suited for Gal. ‘Actually, roles fit an actor so well that it feels unfinished when they only get to do it once,’ they wrote. They praised the ‘calm, sharp, elegant wickedness’ that Gadot brought to the character and mentioned that it was a performance that did not depend on ‘loud shouting or overacting to leave a mark.’ This supporter concluded that it is ‘rare when an actor says they loved being the villain,’ thus pointing out the unique challenge of the part.

This one defense, however, was outvoted by the overwhelming criticism. The public’s reaction reveals clearly that a star is going to have a hard time convincing a doubtful audience to accept a return to a controversial role. Gal Gadot might be prepared to wear the crown again, but the realm of public opinion seems to have already announced its decision. The Evil Queen’s on-screen future is still unclear, being obscured by those genuine and loud dissenting voices of the viewers who would be watching.
