Volunteering at the Olympic Games is a unique way to experience the thrill of the world’s biggest sporting event firsthand. While the official application for LA28 volunteers has not yet opened, there are key steps you can take to prepare.
The official LA28 website (la28.org) allows you to sign up for updates. By subscribing to the newsletter, you’ll be among the first to know when volunteer applications officially open—expected to be in late 2026.

Volunteers, or “Games Makers” as they are often called, will be expected to: Be 18 years or older by the start of the Olympic year. Commit 9–10 days during the Games or Paralympics, plus training sessions beforehand. Have strong English skills, with additional languages considered a plus. Arrange their own travel and accommodation, although LA28 may provide some guidance.
Tickets for the 2028 Games will be sold through the official LA28 ticketing website (la28.org/tickets). Here, fans can purchase single-event tickets or multi-session passes.Registration to participate in the ticket lottery is expected to open in 2026, approximately two years before the Games.
Early registration ensures the best chance at high-demand events including gymnastics, swimming, track and field, and the opening and closing ceremonies.
Ticket prices will vary depending on the sport, session, and venue. LA28 has committed to offering a range of affordable tickets to ensure that fans of all backgrounds can attend. Additionally, accessible seating options will be available for guests with disabilities.
