Harrison Ford stood onstage at the 2026 Actor Awards and treated a lifetime honor like a midcareer milestone. After accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award, Ford joked that the recognition felt premature. He told the crowd he sees himself at the “half point” of his journey, not the finish line.
Harrison Ford receives Lifetime Achievement accolade at 2026 Actor Awards
Harrison Ford stepped up to accept the honor after an introduction from Woody Harrelson. Harrelson recalled their first meeting at a sushi spot on San Vicente. He said he followed Ford into the restaurant, joined him for lunch, and ended up in what he called an “incredible conversation.” He praised Ford as a screen legend, talented pilot, and expert carpenter. Then he cracked a joke: “Of all the actors in the world, you’re one of them.” Ford laughed along as the crowd enjoyed the tribute (via The Hollywood Reporter).
When Ford took the mic, he struck a humble tone. He said he felt deeply “grateful” but also genuinely “humbled” by the recognition. Then he dropped the line that stole the night. Ford said it feels a little strange to receive a lifetime achievement award when he considers himself only halfway through his career. “It’s a little weird, isn’t it? I’m still a working actor!” Ford shared. The Indiana Jones alum also thanked his peers, his wife Calista Flockhart, and his family, calling himself “a lucky guy,” for their support.
Harrison Ford also told the crowd he wasn’t an overnight sensation and credited the directors who helped launch his career, thanking George Lucas and Steven Spielberg by name. Across six decades, he headlined massive franchises like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, while also earning praise for performances in Witness and The Fugitive.
The honor lands in the middle of a late-career hot streak. His role in Shrinking scored him his first Actor Awards nominations, plus his first Emmy nod and first Golden Globe nomination in three decades. He also joined Marvel as Thaddeus Ross in Captain America: Brave New World and recently returned as Indy in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
