Hayley Williams is featured on the deluxe edition of her grandfather Rusty Williams’ debut album, Grand Man. In addition to two unreleased songs, “Joey” and “Sail On By,” Williams has recorded a cover of her grandfather’s unreleased track, “Friends Or Lovers.” A sample of the song was initially included on the outro of “Crystal Clear” from her solo debut LP, Petals For Armor.
After being shaped by her grandfather and his music, Williams championed the release of his shelved album that he made in the ’70s. The LP, which came out on Valentine’s Day last year, was released via bandmate Zac Farro’s label Congrats Records.

“Grandat has a way of cutting to the core of a feeling, and not overcomplicating it,” Williams said of the album’s release last year. “Which we tend to do, because the world is hard. It’s nice when you can hear something plain and simple and know that it is true.”
