Justin Bieber has entered a new era of his career, and he doesn’t care what anyone thinks!
The Baby crooner hit the main stage on Saturday night to headline Coachella for the very first time. And he notably did it on his own terms — without the familiar faces of his rise to fame, such as manager Scooter Braun, all of whom he’s dramatically cut ties with.

Whether or not you loved or hated his laid-back set, which included a segment of him singing along to his old YouTube videos, it’s safe to say JB had everyone talking! Coming to his defense, a source told Us Weekly on Sunday:
“This is Justin in 2026. He doesn’t have anyone pushing him to do these huge pop spectacles like a 3D concert movie anymore. It’s all about vibing and enjoying where he’s at now. There’s a lot less pressure on him, which allows him to put on the show that he wants to.”
As for criticism of his YouTube segment, the source argued it was “only a small part of a much larger set.”
“He didn’t sit behind a computer the whole time. Anyone who watched the full show saw that.”
The moment was meant to be an “homage” to how he “got his start,” the confidant argued:
“It was meant to show his journey from posting videos on YouTube to performing on one of the world’s biggest stages, also on YouTube. [His wife] Hailey [Bieber] thought it was adorable and very Justin. It was exactly what he planned and rehearsed.”
It was certainly a viral moment!!
Regardless of what anyone thinks, this gig was a massive, career-defining moment for him. Why?? Not only is it a bucket list item, but he proved he can do it without his old team by his side:
“Justin doesn’t feel he has something to prove, but at the same time, he wants to flex that he can put on a memorable show without a huge team like he once had. It’s all his vision, brought to life by just a few people.”
Anyone who paid close attention to the artist’s performance style in the last few months — especially since cutting ties with Scooter — should not have been surprised by his Coachella set! Frankly, he seemed SO happy with it, and that’s all a Belieber truly wants, right?
Do U think fans deserved a bigger production or were you pleased with the show he put on??
