Are you rubbing your chin because of the complexity of the Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains in Crimson Desert? Well, you’re not the only one. This well-hidden area has you venturing all across the Demeniss region for clues. We’ve got all the details for you in our guide, but be ready for some minor spoilers, too.
Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains location
The Crimson Desert Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains puzzle is located–you guessed it–in the Golden Plains are of Demeniss. If you keep going north of the first “E” in “Demeniss,” you should stumble upon an Abyss Nexus fast travel point. From there, you’re going to notice another large fog of war on your minimap.
Note: For most of the campaign, countless soldiers in Demeniss will be hostile to Kliff. You need to complete Chapter 8: Blood Coronation so that the troops will no longer be hostile. That said, you can still explore the region and do the puzzle even if you haven’t progressed the main quest. You might just encounter a few hassles if enemies keep chasing you.
How to enter the Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains
At the fields near Honeywood Apiary and Windmere Manor, you’ll see a wooden palisade. Just south of that, there’s a ruined building that’s covered entirely in thorny vines.
- You need to burn the vines by using a fire arrow. There should be a few braziers near the wooden palisades. Light your arrow on these, then run to the ruined building while aiming. Shoot the vines to torch the place.
- Alternatively, you can see if your Blinding Flash – Concentrated Light ability works. (We weren’t able to try this during our playthrough).
- Once the vines are gone, go down the steps and watch out for the flame traps. There’s also another corridor with a spiked pit and a rope that you can traverse.
Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains mural
At the end of the trap corridor, you’ll see the Crimson Desert Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains puzzle wall. The blocks themselves have various drawings, including a bird, a fish, a butterfly, a rabbit, grapes, and so on.
If you backtrack a bit, you’ll see the mural in another room. It depicts the region of Demeniss, and you’ll notice five spots marked in red. Just like the other murals in the game, these locations contain the clues needed to solve the puzzle.
Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains clues
Note that the mural is actually flipped around–i.e. the capital city is to the north, whereas it’s actually in the south in the world map. If you align the marked spots on the world map, you should have something similar to the above image.
Feel free to visit these areas if you want to decipher the clues for yourself. Here’s the kicker: You’re not looking for pictures, runes, or symbols. Rather, the places themselves have livestock or fruits/crops that should match the drawings on the wall blocks. For instance, a certain location might have stables with horses, while another farm grows grapes.
Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains clues and reward
To solve the Crimson Desert Secret Chamber of the Golden Plains mural puzzle, you need to push the wall blocks with the symbols listed below. This can be done in any order. We also recommend using the Force Current skill since it’s faster than having to climb and use Force Palm on each block.
- Grapes – Leftmost block in the top row.
- Horse – Rightmost block in the top row.
- Pomegranate – Middle block in the middle row.
- Pigeon – Rightmost block in the middle row.
- Fish – Rightmost block in the bottom row.
If you did it right, the wall will part, revealing an Abyss Cresset. Go ahead and grab your artifact/skill point and the reward. It’s none other than the Memories of Prosperity, a consumable that reveals the locations of several caves hidden behind waterfalls.
