The “How To Train Your Dragon” cast weighed in on the fundamental cartoons they would like to be seen in a live-action remake, leaving fans screaming with nostalgic excitement and engaging in debate. In the lighthearted exchange, the celebs’ top picks were thrown around as potential remakes: “Ben 10,” “Danny Phantom,” and “Codename: Kids Next Door.” For some, this was cause for rejoicing; others, however, had… verydifferent views on it.

Attached to the article was a picture of casually dressed actors, very much giving off the animated voice character vibe. One user asked, “What in the fuck are they wearing?” while another said, “A brick wall is smarter than everyone in that video.” Harsh? Perhaps. But that’s just how the internet rolls.
Some were pretty much rooting for the aforementioned adaptations, with a comment saying, “Danny Phantom live action with Tom Holland would be fire.” Another one added that a ‘Ben 10’ or ‘Danny Phantom’ live action adaptation, with good CGI in true form, “every single person is gonna watch that movie.” Not so hot, another commenter said outright, “Not everything needs to be live action bros 😭😭😭😭😭.”
Then there are purists who just want to see new stories instead of more reboots. “My type of people, but honestly keep the live-action stuff away for now,” read one comment. “I just want these shows revived with new stories.” One even threatened to march on Hollywood with a “jawbreaker protest sign” if “someone lays a finger on Ed, Edd n Eddy.”
Not an internet argument without stating the obvious. Multiple users chimed in to remind everyone that ‘Ben 10’ already had a live-action movie and it was… well, let’s just say it wasn’t exactly an Oscar contender. One user even shared a screenshot of the infamous 2007 adaptation with the caption, “So are we gonna pretend like this abomination doesn’t exist?”
Amid the opposition, there is opportunity. A creative mind proposed turning ‘Courage the Cowardly Dog’ into a live-action horror movie, which, honestly? Brilliant. Another was hopeful that there would be a revival that “hires the nostalgia hard and opens up fresh stories for a new generation.”
“But then, not many actually believe Hollywood could pull it off. ‘All of it is ass,’ said one user, blaming the industry’s treatment of writers for bad remakes. Another had a cynical outlook, asking rhetorically, “What’s the point?” Any live-action version is just going to be race-swapping characters for no reason.
Whether or not fans want reboots, that’s an open question; nevertheless, the love for those classic cartoons has never fainted. The day they are truly revived, Hollywood better get it right, or they might have a full-scale backlash courtesy of a loud, online fanbase.
