Celine Dion fights back tears as she reveals she’s “ready” to open up for the first time about her on-going health battle.
In the trailer for her upcoming documentary I Am: Celine Dion, the singer talks about the pain of cancelling her world tour dates after being diagnosed with Stiff-Persons Syndrome (SPS).
“It’s not hard to do a show, you know. It’s hard to cancel a show,” she says in the two-minute trailer.

“I’m working hard everyday. But I have to admit, it’s been a struggle.
“I miss it so much. The people, I miss them. If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl. I won’t stop.”
Along with a montage of archival footage of the singer on stage of the years, there’s a snippet of a 911 emergency call.
It’s not revealed what it is for.
“I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder and I wasn’t ready to say anything before,” Dion told the camera in one confessional moment before pausing to compose herself.
“But I’m ready now.”
Dion first revealed her SPS diagnosis in December 2022 after postponing her European tour dates.
The neurological disorder creates spasms which affect a patient’s ability to walk and use their vocal cords, which means Dion can’t sing the way she used to – something she hints at in the opening voiceover of the trailer.
“My voice is the conductor of my life,” Dion says.
“When your voice brings you joy, you’re the best of yourself. I need my instrument.”
The documentary, from Academy Award nominee Irene Taylor, appears to follow the singer through medical appointments.
One scene in the trailer gives fans a glimpse of the sheer amount of medications Dion is on.
In another part of the video, the singer is seen in ballet shoes and workout gear, vowing to recover.
There are also some lighter moments in the trailer with Dion talking about her love of shoes and her early career.
I Am: Celine Dion will premiere on streaming service Prime Video on June 25.
