Infinity Festival, an event blending entertainment, technology and gaming, is returning to Hollywood for its eighth annual edition on October 9 and 10.
This year’s edition will be based mainly at two key venues along L.A.’s fabled Museum Mile: the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and the newly opened Sony Pictures Imageworks Mid-Wilshire campus. Two senior Imageworks execs, CTO Mike Ford and production chief Mandy Tankenson are returning as the festival’s co-chairs.
Deadline is presenting media sponsor of the festival. Presenting sponsors include tech firms HP, Nvidia and AMD.
This year’s festival will also feature the Belgian Economic Mission under the Guardianship of HRH Princess Astrid, Representative of His Majesty the King, as a special delegation. The princess will officially open the festival, joined by a delegation of 500 Belgian media, entertainment, sports and gaming industry leaders.
The theme this year is “Innovators in the Age of Change,” in recognition of technologists and creators across AI, immersive media, sports, gaming and other fields. Two days of showcases, screenings, demos, AI labs, and panels will center on that theme.
Infinity has established itself in part due to its showcasing of the entire production pipeline, from conception to final cut. That scope positions the event as a meeting ground for studio execs, independent creators, students, filmmakers and other stakeholders. The 2024 edition featured legendary visual effects artist Rob Legato, AGBO Chief Scientific Officer Dominic Hughes and speakers from Amazon, Nvidia, Range Media Partners and other companies. Through the years, participants have included Phil Lord & Chris Miller; Brie Larson, Jeff Bridges, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
