Invincible has blown up ever since the animated series debuted on Amazon. Series creator Robert Kirkman teases promising news for the live-action film with Universal Pictures.
A live-action Invincible film has been in production for over six years, long before the series even debuted. However, there has been little-to-no updates since the project was announced. Following the trailer for Invincible season 2 on Amazon releasing, series creator Robert Kirkman gave fans a promising update on the Universal Pictures project:
“With the strikes and everything, it’s all stalled, and rightly so. Everybody’s doing a great thing trying to make sure that future generations get to be able to work and thrive and survive in this industry,” Kirkman told Screen Rant. “Everything’s been put on pause, but it’s something that I know Universal is very invested in, and it’s something that we’ve been working on behind the scenes up to this point. Hopefully, I’ll be able to answer this question in a more answerable way at some point in the future.”
While perhaps not the update Invincible fans may have wanted, simple confirmation the project is still alive at Universal Pictures is enough to put others at ease. Invincible is a series that’s always held a special place in many people’s hearts, so as long as Robert Kirkman remains at the wheel, fans are likely content waiting just a little longer.
