Say goodbye to dancing your night away with Jenny from the Block. Jennifer Lopez announced today the cancellation of her previously planned summer tour.
Rumors of poor ticket sales have been ripe across social media for a couple months, with Jennifer Lopez coming forward today to cancel her tour, cementing that her star power as a singer may be waning. Her PR team has clearly worked hard to do damage control with a heartfelt message from the fans assuring them of her heartbreak and claiming it’s due to spending time with her kids. Sure.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” Lopez said in a statement on her official tour page. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Meanwhile, as press and fans rally to find out why little more has been said about the tour’s cancellation. Representatives for Live Nation, which was promoting the “This Is Me… Live” tour, said, “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”
We did manage to verify that refunds will be issued to those who bought tickets through Ticketmaster. Ticket buyers who used third-party sites will have to contact those platforms for details.
European summer instead? Weekend trip The Cape? The Hamptons? Having a planned trip for a concert canned is a total bummer, but…you can treat yourself to a vacation now. So maybe, thanks Jennifer? Let us know your feelings on this whole situation.
