Whoa! We heard on Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez aren’t even on speaking terms right now. The report was focused on the fact that’s making moving forward with the divorce rather more complicated. No kidding, huh? But not why they aren’t speaking.
Well, according to an insider, it’s because of how all this has made J.Lo feel. Because despite looking like a million bucks on the outside, like she’s having a fun, independent #SingleMomSummer, on the inside she is A BALL OF RAGE AND DESPERATION!
The source spilled to Page Six on Monday evening:
“She’s furious. He has humiliated her. He was the one who initiated getting back together.”
Oof. They’re not wrong. We know Ben wrote her letters even before and especially after the breakup with Alex Rodriguez. He wooed her the old fashioned way and won her back. It was a thing of beauty. And she hates him for it!
“He’s humiliated her because she made a big deal that he’s the love of her life.”
Yeah, that’ll do it. She’s especially hurt because she’s “a romantic” and believed it with all her heart. And of course, she’s embarrassed because like some kind of Hollywood punchline, they got married and are divorcing in less than the time it takes a new season of Bridgerton to come out! The insider says:
“They just had two weddings two years ago. This is some kind of a record, they’re not young kids.”

Jen was also acutely aware from the moment they got back together that this marriage meant uniting their broods. And family means everything to her, so breaking it up again — especially after their kids bonded so well — is killing her.
“There are five kids involved in this. She knew they were going to blend families.”
The source says all this is so traumatic for J.Lo, the family being shattered, the replay of 2004, the public spectacle of it… that she can’t even process it!
“She has not fully accepted it is over.”
WHOA!!!
That is a huge statement! If it’s true, it explains a lot! First and foremost it tells us why they haven’t simply finalized and announced the divorce. The insider says Ben is holding off on the coup de grace, as it were. He may be done with the marriage, but he does love Jen, and he just can’t bring himself to hurt her by finishing the divorce. The source claims:
“He’s very protective of her.”
Wow. So he’s not protective of her enough to get down and dirty and fix their issues and make the marriage work… but he’s willing to live in a limbo where neither is fully married nor single. Huh.
If he hopes some epiphany is going to hit him like a lightning bolt, we’d advise him not to wait around. Deep down, guys always know what they should do AND what they actually want to do. We’d say listen to the angel telling you what you should do and do it. Even if it hurts. That’s just our two cents.
