Jill Zarin‘s step-grandson has come forward, accusing her of demanding Bravo film her late husband Bobby Zarin‘s funeral and much, much more.
As the 62-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum continues to face backlash for her Super Bowl rant about Bad Bunny‘s performance, including a firing from The Golden Life, the unnamed relative, believed to be the son of one of Bobby’s three children, who include his two sons, David and Jonathan, and his daughter, Jennifer, hosted an “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit.
“I am Jill Zarin’s step grandson,” he began, noting that he was willing to prove his identity if need be. He later did so by posting a video of his eulogy from Bobby’s funeral and also by linking to his Reddit AMA from his Instagram page.
Then, after noting that no one else wanted to speak out, in fear of a defamation lawsuit, the man confirmed he made the picture of an “X” on Jill’s face for Zarin Fabrics’ Instagram page before they offered a public statement against her. He also reacted to someone who mentioned that Jill had “demanded cameras at Bobby’s funeral.”
“THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT. My uncle and aunt were literally in the funeral home when Jill told them she invited Bravo to film the funeral. THEY WERE IN THE FUNERAL HOME, PLANNING THE FUNERAL,” he explained in a screenshot shared by Bravo and Cocktails on Instagram. “My dad and his [brother] and sister didn’t know what to say. She was the wife and like they felt like they couldn’t do anything. They were so disgusted. And by the way, years later, and [Bethenny Frankel] said something to the effect of like, ‘oh I’m glad Jill told me the Bravo cameras just showed up. I thought she invited them, and that was disgusting[.]’ Jill lied to her.”
Real Moms of Bravo on Instagram also shared several screenshots from the AMA, including one in which the man revealed the “most unhinged thing” Jill had done at a holiday dinner table.
“My grandpa had this Ferrari and the [brake handle] wasn’t working and the car rolled out of the garage, and she threatened my dad with a knife,” he wrote.
He then confirmed that he and his family are “not on speaking terms with her” and hadn’t been “since [they] finalized the settlement agreement over [his] grandpa’s estate.”
Another screenshot saw him suggesting that he’d like to tell Jill to “go to therapy.”
Then, after a fan asked, “Do you talk to her daughter [Ally Shapiro] still? What does she think,” the man said that because Ally, 33, and Jill were so close, “it would just be [awkward].”
Someone else wondered, “Who actually owns Zarin Fabrics? Does Jill have any stake in the business or is it Bobby’s descendants?”
“Jill has no stake in the business. My dad owns it,” he replied.
Following her firing from The Golden Life, Jill reminded In Touch Weekly that she was “human” and that “people make mistakes.”
