On the June 5 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Inde Navarrette explained to the host how the artifact works. She said that in the film, the protagonist Bear, played by Michael Johnston, uses it to wish that his crush Nikki, portrayed by Navarrette, “would love me more than anybody in the f—ing world.” Though Bear just wanted his feelings returned, the supernatural wish led to severe and horrific consequences.
Jumping on the bandwagon, Kimmel pulls out the notorious One Wish Willow and decides to give it a try with Navarrette. She walks him through making a wish and breaking it, and they both do so. The episode also features the breakout star pointing out a “crazy” coincidence: she already had arm tattoos that matched the artwork on the movie’s “One Wish Willow” prop box. The revelation catches Kimmel off guard, leaving him visibly baffled as he tries to process the uncanny coincidence.
