Joely Richardson has shared the details of her last holiday with her sister Natasha.
The actress, 59, shared the story on Instagram alongside a picture of the late Natasha and their mother, Vanessa Redgrave.

Joely says taking a last-minute trip together was a “rare treat,” an experience that would be their last before Natasha’s unexpected death in 2009.
“I came across this yesterday and it made me smile. Mum, me and my sister Tasha,” the caption began.

“It was a completely impromptu few days away in a gloomy January. mum and I found ourselves at Gatwick’s south terminal wondering what on earth we were doing- later mighty thankful,” she continued.
“We almost never holidayed the 3 of us ( children /partners/ friends)- a rare treat. Tash organised everything in her unique way ( in other words brilliantly) and I sat back being the birthday girl.”

Joely shared a photo of the trio on the back of a boat on crystal clear waters, posing arm-in-arm.
“We took little boat trip to lunch on island. Special few days that turned out to be our last adventure together. Mighty thankful indeed. Seize the day ♥️” the post concluded.
Natasha was skiing in Canada when she fell and hit her head, suffering an epidural hematoma in 2009.

After being hospitalised a couple of hours after the fall, Richardson was then transferred to a hospital in New York City, where she was put on life support and died two days later.
Richardson’s husband, Liam Neeson, was by her side when she died.
The actress was survived by their two children Micheál, who was only 13, and his younger brother, Daniel, who was 12.
Joely, who often shares throwback photos of her and Natasha over the years on social media, told 9Honey Celebrity there was one particular standout tribute to her sister this year.
“I was particularly moved by her son’s tribute on social media,” Joely said of Daniel Neeson, one of Natasha’s two boys.

“I think what’s nice about all our loved ones that have passed, if we do a nod – because in my experience, maybe it’s an age thing, I lost my father when I was very young – is that our loved ones are forever with us.
“It’s not like spooky fairies but I believe in energy, and energy you can’t destroy.”
