JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown have dropped a deluxe edition of their first joint project that was released earlier this year, and it comes with some serious shade.
On Tuesday (July 11), the pair dropped SCARING THE HOES: DLC PACK, which contains four additional cuts, one of which immediately stands out for putting a fellow rapper on blast.
“Bitch, I ain’t Baby Keem, my cousin ain’t gave me shit,” Peggy raps on the opening verse of the song, “NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!”

The line mentioned above takes aim Kendrick Lamar’s cousin, Baby Keem. In 2021, the Southern California rapper blew up at the age of 20 following the release of “family ties.” The single features K-Dot and instantly elevated Keem to new heights.
JPEGMAFIA, who is among the most unconventional rappers and producers of the modern era, referenced the alliance to stress his own struggles in the industry and how he had to claw his way past constant rejection.
Whereas Keem was shot into space based off of just one co-sign, artists like JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown grinded for years before receiving any recognition.
Despite the shot, it is worth noting that Brown worked with the good kid, m.A.A.d city hitmaker during his come up. The two first appeared together on the A$AP Rocky rising-stars collaboration, “1 Train,” in 2013.
A few years later, Danny featured Kendrick on his 2016 Atrocity Exhibition hit, “Really Doe.” Whereas both MCs have never had any friction, their teammates just might.
Meanwhile, Danny Brown and Logic recently linked up for a conversation, during which they talked about negotiating the challenges of hitting a dead end in the creative process.
During an episode of the Danny Brown Show that aired earlier this month, the two MCs had a chat about steadily writing and releasing content, and dealing with writer’s block along the way.
